The apostles gathered together with Jesus; and they reported to Him all that they had done and taught.\u00a0And He said to them,\u00a0\u201cCome away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.\u201d<\/mark>\u00a0(For there were many\u00a0people\u00a0coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.)\u00a0They went away in the boat to a secluded place by themselves.\u00a0 (Mark 6:30-32, NASB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the passage above, Jesus had sent His disciples out on a mission.\u00a0 He told them to go preach the gospel, heal the sick, and drive out demons from people.\u00a0 Now in Mark’s account, they were reporting back to Him.\u00a0 But Jesus tells them that they should all get away somewhere by themselves:\u00a0 “And He said to them, ‘Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.’ (For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.)”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus is teaching us a very important lesson:\u00a0 Sometimes we all need a break from our routines.\u00a0 In today’s world, it’s a hustle-bustle, fast-paced life.\u00a0 We all have to take a break.\u00a0 We need rest.\u00a0 If we know Jesus, we can rest in Him.\u00a0 Because we know Him, we’re promised perfect rest someday in eternity, in heaven.\u00a0 We’ll spend eternity with Him in heaven.\u00a0 I’m told it’ll be a very restful place.\u00a0 Jesus is the lover of my soul!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
