{"id":1148,"date":"2023-11-18T03:35:24","date_gmt":"2023-11-18T03:35:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deadmannotwalking.org\/?p=1148"},"modified":"2023-11-18T03:35:28","modified_gmt":"2023-11-18T03:35:28","slug":"baptism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deadmannotwalking.org\/?p=1148","title":{"rendered":"Baptism"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"\">.&nbsp;. .&nbsp;having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.&nbsp;When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,&nbsp;having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.&nbsp; (Colossians 2:12-14, NASB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Baptism brings us together with Jesus.&nbsp; It&#8217;s a picture of His death and resurrection.&nbsp; When we go down into the waters we are buried with Him.&nbsp; When we come back up we are resurrected with Him.&nbsp; Paul says that we &#8220;were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.&#8221;&nbsp; So it&#8217;s through our faith in God that renews us!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Further, Paul tells us that when we were dead in our sins, then God gave us life again through Jesus.\u00a0 It&#8217;s through our faith in Jesus that saves us from our sins, and from God&#8217;s wrath.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"525\" height=\"295\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/deadmannotwalking.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/image-2.png?resize=525%2C295&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1149\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/deadmannotwalking.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/image-2.png?resize=1024%2C576&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/deadmannotwalking.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/image-2.png?resize=300%2C169&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/deadmannotwalking.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/image-2.png?resize=768%2C432&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/deadmannotwalking.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/image-2.png?resize=1536%2C864&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/deadmannotwalking.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/image-2.png?w=1600&amp;ssl=1 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 706px) 89vw, (max-width: 767px) 82vw, 740px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">https:\/\/agodman.com\/our-old-man-buried-christ-resurrected-new-man-is-living-one-god\/<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Finally, Paul says that we had a certificate of debt that was wiped out when Jesus hung on the cross.\u00a0 God &#8220;canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us;
