{"id":1180,"date":"2023-12-27T19:41:09","date_gmt":"2023-12-27T19:41:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deadmannotwalking.org\/?p=1180"},"modified":"2023-12-27T19:41:15","modified_gmt":"2023-12-27T19:41:15","slug":"hope-was-born-this-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deadmannotwalking.org\/?p=1180","title":{"rendered":"Hope Was Born This Night"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"\">Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the\u00a0resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,\u00a0to\u00a0obtain\u00a0an inheritance\u00a0which is\u00a0imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.\u00a0\u00a0(1 Peter 1:3-4,\u00a0NASB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">I began these essays with the purpose of providing hope to those who are in the same position as me:&nbsp; Suffering from a terminal condition, and who might not have the same hope that I do.&nbsp; While I don&#8217;t say the word &#8220;hope&#8221; that often, I mean to tell everyone that my hope is in my Lord Jesus Christ.&nbsp; Jesus is Hope!&nbsp; In this passage from 1 Peter, the Apostle tells us of this same hope.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Peter starts his epistle by praising God for His Plan of Salvation.&nbsp; God&#8217;s &#8220;mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.&#8221;&nbsp; It&#8217;s up to each of us to acknowledge Jesus&#8217; sacrifice for us to be &#8220;born again to [that] living hope,&#8221;
