He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High\u00a0Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.\u00a0I will say to the Lord, \u201cMy refuge and my fortress,\u00a0\u00a0My God, in whom I trust!\u201d . . .\u00a0\u00a0\u201cBecause he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him;\u00a0I will set him\u00a0securely\u00a0on high, because he has\u00a0known My name.\u00a0He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;\u00a0I will be with him in trouble;\u00a0I will rescue him and honor him.\u00a0With a long life I will satisfy him\u00a0And let him see My salvation.”\u00a0 (Psalm 91:1-2, 14-16, NASB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Psalm 91 is entitled “Security of the One Who Trusts in the Lord.”\u00a0 I was listening to Pandora the other day and I heard the song below.\u00a0 So I thought I’d write on Psalm 91.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The author of this psalm is unknown. The psalmist writes of his belief that the person who trusts in the Lord will be sheltered from harm. “I will say to the Lord, \u201cMy refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” God is compared to a Shelter, a Shadow, a Refuge, and a Fortress, all symbols of hiding or protection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the latter portion of the text above, God answers back to the psalmist.
