{"id":871,"date":"2023-04-03T12:26:05","date_gmt":"2023-04-03T12:26:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deadmannotwalking.org\/?p=871"},"modified":"2023-04-03T12:26:10","modified_gmt":"2023-04-03T12:26:10","slug":"palm-sunday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deadmannotwalking.org\/?p=871","title":{"rendered":"Palm Sunday"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Most of the crowd spread their coats in the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them in the road.&nbsp;The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting,&nbsp;\u201cHosanna to the Son of David;&nbsp;Blessed is&nbsp;He who comes in the name of the&nbsp;Lord;&nbsp;&nbsp;Hosanna in the highest!&#8221;&nbsp;When He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, \u201cWho is this?\u201d&nbsp;And the crowds were saying, \u201cThis is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.&nbsp; (Matthew 21:8-11, NASB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yesterday, 2 April, was Palm Sunday.&nbsp; We remember Jesus&#8217; Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem.&nbsp; Earlier, He had told two of His disciples to go and fetch a donkey and her colt from their owner.&nbsp; He even told them what to say to the owner.&nbsp; How did Jesus know where to find the animals?&nbsp; Jesus is God!&nbsp; The Bible verse above tells what happened when Jesus entered the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It would be a momentous week for Jesus.\u00a0 By Friday, He would fulfill His mission for coming to the earth He created:\u00a0 He would die!\u00a0 On Spy Wednesday, Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, one of Jesus&#8217; Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord;\u00a0 Hosanna in the highest!&#8221;\u00a0 By the end of the week they would be shouting, &#8220;Crucify Him!&#8221;\u00a0 &#8220;Hosanna&#8221; means &#8220;Praise God!&#8221;\u00a0 Quite a difference from &#8220;Kill God!&#8221;\u00a0 But the people didn&#8217;t understand just Who He was.\u00a0 They thought the Messiah would come to deliver them from under the thumb of their Roman oppressors.\u00a0 Instead, Jesus came to save them from their sins.\u00a0 He came to save US from OUR sins!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hosanna - Hillsong Worship\" width=\"525\" height=\"295\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hnMevXQutyE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
